Junior Achievement has existed for decades with a focus on preparing today’s youth for tomorrow’s challenges. Junior Achievement (JA) provides schools with lessons that teach many of the skills needed to be productive members of society, strongly emphasizing business and life skills, as well as math and financial management.
Mountainville Academy students who participate in JA curriculum are given the opportunity to visit JA Biztown, an enterprise city site located at the Gateway in Salt Lake City. Students spend a school day at the site as involved members of society in a miniature version of Salt Lake City, giving them a momentary glimpse of what it might be like to be an adult in the world.
JA Salt Lake City is unable to accommodate all schools who would like to participate. We feel very honored and fortunate to have our 5th and 8th graders invited to visit the enterprise city site, and we are excited for them to have this experience, both this year and in the future.
